We arrived at our famous campground in the afternoon. This wall, park and trees were used as one of the sets in the 2000 Lord of the Rings movie. Keith, the proprietor, loves to tell the story of those days.
Keith arranges for our group to be picked up by the local Cosmopolitan club’s shuttle and taken for dinner and drinks. This year 30 people filled three vans for a fun filled evening. The Cossie club is like one of our Elks lodges. We all sign in then get to partake of inexpensive drinks and dinner. Quite nice to leave the driving to them! There’s more action going on than eating. Live horse racing on the big screen, trivia, indoor lawn bowls (like bocce ball), and the pokey machines. That’s what they call slot machines. Debbie came out $24. Ahead!
