Ok, so I said our group is in tropical Cairns.  So, what better way to spend our 3rd day in Australia than visiting a rain forest and having lunch at the Aboriginal Experience.
After another one of those scrumptious breakfasts at the hotel, we load onto a bus bound for the Freshwater Station.  Here we get aboard then vintage train to Kuranda.  I am a train addict, so this is a treat for me.  We no sooner leave the station than the crew begins distributing macadamia nuts and mimosas.  Fantasy is not just taking us to Kuranda, but they take on the Royale Service.

In Kuranda we have time to enjoy shopping, looking at opals, have a coffee or one of the famous Kuranda fruit smoothies.  I love the opals, but am a softie for smoothies.  So, I stop and buy one.  Just after noon, we are to meet at the Sky Rail station to take a gondola ride.  This ride is about an hour and 15 minutes long and we whisk over the beautiful rain forest trees just below our gondola.  We have two stops.  I get off at the last one for a closer look at the forest floor and enjoy a moment in a tropical rain forest.  This is another first for me.  Did I mention how many first I have experienced on this tour?  I am sure there are too many to count.

Once on the ground we walk to the Aboriginal Experience for lunch.  I am glad I brought loose clothes, ‘cause all this food must be attaching to my body somewhere.  After lunch we get a boomerang demonstration and a chance to throw one.  Then, Fantasy treats us to a history and cultural shows, including our first didgeridoo player.

It is time to close my eyes now, because tomorrow our Fantasy family pick up our motor homes the next day and begin our travels from Cairns to Sydney and the Outback.  After the Great Barrier Reef yesterday and today Kuranda, I am sure the rest of the trip will be Fantasy fantastic.
