Day 34-RVers Visit Billabong Sanctuary

We stayed at the city of Townsville last night and this morning we head for MacKay.  First Fantasy is treating us to breakfast at the Billabong Wildlife Sanctuary.  This a big treat, because not only is the food outstanding again, but we are able to get very close to kangaroos or Roos as the locals call them.

 

Actually, after a big Australian breakfast we hand feed the Roos.  One of the females who came to eat brought a 6-month-old joey with her.  Wow!  What a treat that is to be able to see a baby kangaroo right in the pouch.  Fantasy just keeps surprising me.

 

This lovely park does allow people to hold koala’s and my friend Claretta took the opportunity to get her picture taken with this iconic Australian bear.  She gives us on of those beautiful smiles that lights the world with her pleasure.  Tonight Mackay and tomorrow we head to Rockhampton.  What treats awaits as we travel Australia wild tropical coast?  Each day is better than the last thanks to Fantasy and our great guides.
