Today, a bus picked us up at our campground for a short trip to the Antarctic Center where we learned about life at -120 degrees F and saw a great 4D (sight, sound, motion and water) presentation of a boat tour to the Antarctic – a GREAT experience.
We then took a bus trip to a quaint village of Akaroa right on the ocean with some fantastic views. Akaroa is a historic French and British settlement nestled in the heart of a volcano. We had time to enjoy a lunch and explore the village established in 1840.
