Today we had a short 72 mile drive to Sydney where we turned our RVs back into Maui. Had a couple more learning experiences here in the land down under. Learned “Bingle”, Aussie’s terminology for auto accident or wreck or mishap. We were very thankful to Fantasy for including upgraded full insurance coverage for our rental as we had a bit of a mishap when we drove under a canopy that was about a half of an inch lower than our RV was high and broke the vent on top of the roof. I borrowed a ladder shortly after the incident and made a temporary patch from a piece of tarp and Duct Tape. I
learned that Australian Duct tape is more like broad electrical tape in the US that stretches when heated by the sun. I did later buy some cloth tape to
make the repair that did hold up to the little bit of wet weather we had and kept us dry and comfy. When we turned in the rig, we told our rental company what happened, filled out an accident report and were informed “No Worry” (Australian for not a problem) as the damage was covered by the insurance included in the Fantasy rental agreement. Thanks again Fantasy!
