Yesterday, we flew from Auckland to Cairns (pronounced Cans), settled into a nice hotel and had a good night’s sleep in a king sized, comfortable, bed. Fantasy picked a winner of a hotel here…. Right on the waterfront. Take a look at the picture.
Today was our first full day in Australia and once again we were treated to a very special day. We sailed on the Ocean Spirit Catamaran out to the Great Barrier Reef where some snorkeled and/or went scuba diving, most rode the semi-submersible and all had a great lunch. We had fun trying on and getting used to our snorkel gear – see photo. Members of our group who never snorkeled before took advantage of the opportunity by taking a short instruction class on the beach and then venturing out to see the multi-colored fish, beautiful corral and giant clams – another great, fun-filled, learning adventure.
