Breakfast at the Billabong Sanctuary with the animals was a favorite for our Fantasy guests. We enjoyed an early morning freshly prepared private breakfast right next to the Billabong while we waited for the animal program to start.
After breakfast and just before the Ranger started his program, a group of kangaroos appeared and mingled among us like puppies wanting to be petted. Several females were carrying young ones in their pouch. A sight to behold was the female “Roo” with a little one (a Joey) in her pouch!
What a thrill, who could ever imagine standing in a circle with these exotic animals?! Almost all of us had pictures taken with a cuddly Wombat and with a Koala.
Then it was photos holding snakes, birds and crocodiles. The morning was topped off with a crocodile jumping the length of his body out of the water for a bite of food. This was something special, this was Australia! You would not have time to experience something like this on a fly-in standard two week tour, but on Fantasy’s extensive vacation by RV, you can!
