Our group had a ball sand surfing on the huge dunes at Ninety Mile Beach. We had a gorgeous, sunny day as our four wheel drive bus flew along the edge of the sparkling water of the Tasman Sea. After a BBQ lunch we drove out to the northern most point of NZ where we walked to a beautiful lighthouse.
We parked beside a huge sand dune where others were surfing. Our group jumped off the bus, grabbed a board and climbed up the steep, sandy hill. What a great time, we all became kids again!
Then more excitement began as our bus drove over 60 MPH along the water. Wally, our driver found the perfect place to stop and we all followed him to the water and dug out clams. They were only about 6 inches deep and we got a lot! Some of our group enjoyed them for dinner.
Wow, another great day on our NZ tour. This has been one great experience after another and we still have Australia to go! I can’t imagine it getting any better than this!
